Shapeshifters Theatre presents a staged reading of Conor McPherson’s haunting 'Shining City' this fall, just in time for Halloween. Elizabeth Ellis directs.
'Shining City' tells the mysterious tale of two men: John, who believes his deceased wife is haunting their home, and Ian, a renounced priest and new therapist who suffers from a loss of faith. John visits Ian as a client, and both men struggle to make their ways in their new lives. The cast features Jude Hansen, Hilary Holbrook and Matthew Sergot.
'Shining City' is Monday, October 24 at 7 pm in the Fifth Province. The Pub opens at 6pm and the reading begins at 7pm. Patrons can enjoy traditional Irish music with Patrick and Karen Cannady before the reading.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by visiting www.irish-american.org, calling 773-282-7035, ext. 10 or purchasing at the door.
