Breaking News! St. Louis Tionol April 2013 Report Just In!

Glad to announce that the St. Louis Tionol Report is in!! Here are our impressions!

Members of the Chicago Pipers descended on Saint Louis for the annual Tionol. Guest pipers this year were Jimmy O’Brien-Moran, Neillidh Mulligan, Brendan Collins, and Michael Cooney. Piping highlights of the weekend were: Jimmy O’Brien-Moran’s magnificent performance on Friday night at the concert; a reedmaking workshop with rising pipemaking star Jim Wenham; Neillidh Mulligan giving us a powerful solo performance at Saturday night’s concert; gangs of pipers hanging out and playing tunes into the small hours in the snug at the Schlafly Brewery and Tap Room on Friday and Saturday nights, plus a similar gathering in the beer garden out back of McGurk’s on Sunday afternoon; Michael Cooney’s crisp articulations; a pleasant surprise appearance by piping aficionados Edmund Tunney and Martin Preshaw (yes, the same Martin Preshaw making pipes now in Fermanagh); a Plate of Swine (dinner at the Tap Room, it’s GREAT!); and nice after party at a private home. Your roving reporter needed a week to recover. Photos are posted here!  Have a visit over and check out our photos!
